Individual Counseling

Individual Therapy: Individual therapy is tailored to each client's needs.  As a person-centered, solution-focused therapist, Brianne believes each person has the ability to determine their own path for change, and possesses the solutions for their problems within their own strengths.  It can be difficult to see our own strengths. Brianne’s role in therapy is to provide you with a safe non-judgmental space to allow you to gain better insight into your own strengths, and you work toward the change in your life you desire.

Tween (Pre-Teen) Therapy: This stage of development (ages 11 to 13) is full of challenges, growth, and transition, which can be overwhelming for tweens to navigate and understand. Brianne offers a safe and comfortable space for tweens to express their thoughts and feelings. Using their unique strengths and interests, Brianne can help them develop language around emotions, build coping skills, and learn how to be resilient through some of adolescence’s most challenging moments.

Teen Therapy: Brianne enjoys supporting teens (ages 14 to 18) as they learn more about themselves and their world. The teen years can be a scary and challenging time as they face new pressures, emotional and physical changes, and an increased awareness of politics and current events. Brianne can help your teen develop self-acceptance and resiliency as they move forward into adulthood.

Adult Therapy: Adulthood looks different for everyone. Some have been working for years, others are fresh out of college, and some might feel stuck, stagnant, or unsure of where their path will lead them. Brianne can work with you to discover a deeper understanding of yourself, process through thoughts and behaviors that could be holding you back, and find out what drives you.

Behavioral Support & Coaching

Behavioral Intervention & Planning: Behavior is communication, and oftentimes we have a hard time understanding what message children are trying to convey through challenging behaviors. Brianne is experienced in behavioral interventions and functional behavior analysis, and can work alongside you to better understand the function of maladaptive behaviors and to develop a plan to shape those behaviors into more positive and prosocial ones.

Parent & Family Support: Parenting is one of the toughest journeys a person can embark on. It requires immense vulnerability and can bring out the best and worst in us. If you need encouragement, space to work through your own childhood traumas and triggers, or time to explore what you want your parenting to look like, Brianne can help. The family system impacts the way each of us experiences everyday life. Brianne works with families of all shapes and sizes to improve communication, enhance connection and build satisfying relationships with one another.

Assessment & Consultation

Psychoeducational Assessment: As a licensed and nationally certified school psychologist, Brianne offers private psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and young adult students in King County and Snohomish County (Washington State only). A psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that examines many factors related to learning problems, specifically an individual’s strengths and weaknesses that create barriers to accessing the learning environment. Depending on your concerns, a customized psychological testing battery will be created which may include testing of intellectual ability, learning patterns, academic skills, social-emotional/behavioral, and adaptive/life skills. These assessments can be used by K-12 school districts to determine eligibility for 504 plans and Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s), as well as school admissions, kindergarten readiness, and placement.

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE): If your student has already been evaluated for special education through your current school district and you disagree with those testing results (or feel like your student is not getting the supports and services they need), you may be eligible for an evaluation that is paid for by your student’s school district. An IEE (Independent Education Evaluation) is a private psycho-educational evaluation that provides a parent or guardian the opportunity to obtain their own assessment of their student when they disagree with the school district’s results/recommended educational program. This is a right of all parents or guardians whose student has undergone testing through the school system via the special education laws granted in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Due to her specialty training and national credentialing in School Psychology, Brianne is a qualified professional who can complete an IEE and guide you through the process.
